Terms of Use
Effective July 20, 2026
NEXT_PUBLIC_LEGAL_* values and obtain counsel review before treating these terms as final.Agreement and operator
These terms govern the Nala website and downloadable Nala application provided by the Nala project operator. By using the site or application after these terms become effective, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: support@nalarun.com.
What is offered now
Nala is a free, local-first desktop application and terminal agent distributed together. The application is free to use with your own provider API keys or with local models, and does not require an account.
There is no promised managed model backend, subscription, service-level agreement, or remote storage service in this release. Website account, email, and payment-related code may be experimental or disabled unless the relevant feature is expressly offered on the site.
The application source and included software are provided under the license files shipped with the application. The Nala repository currently includes the MIT License. Third-party packages, agents, models, and services remain subject to their own licenses and terms.
Your responsibility
- Review generated commands, code changes, and agent actions before relying on or shipping them.
- Keep backups and protect credentials, repositories, terminals, and provider accounts you connect.
- Confirm that your use of models, agents, code, and data is lawful and permitted by their owners.
- Do not use the website to probe, overload, bypass access controls, distribute malware, infringe rights, or harm others.
Third-party tools and content
Nala can launch or coordinate third-party command-line agents and services that you install or configure. Those tools are not controlled by Nala. Their availability, output, data handling, fees, and security are governed by their providers. Links and integrations do not imply endorsement or a warranty.
Updates and availability
Nala may check a signed release manifest and offer updates. You decide whether to install an offered update unless a future build clearly states otherwise. We may change, suspend, or stop a preview feature, but we will not intentionally make a previously downloaded local copy depend on an undisclosed managed service.
Feedback and website content
You keep ownership of feedback and material you submit. You give us permission to use feedback without restriction or payment to improve Nala, provided we do not publish your confidential information. Nala names, artwork, and website content not covered by an included open-source license may not be misrepresented as your brand or endorsement.
No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the preview software and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free output. Nothing here excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nala and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, code, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from the free preview. Liability that cannot be excluded remains limited only as the applicable law allows.
Termination, law, and changes
You may stop using Nala at any time. We may restrict website access for abuse or security risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive. These terms are governed by the jurisdiction that must be configured before launch, excluding conflict-of-law rules, subject to non-waivable consumer protections. We will post material revisions and update the effective date; continued use after effectiveness constitutes acceptance where permitted.
